GLAC Mission Statement
The Great Lake Allatoona Cleanup "GLAC" and its partners will lead the Lake Allatoona community in environmental stewardship of the watershed through education, preservation, conservation, and volunteerism.
Great Lake Clean Up
The GLAC Clean Up is not just a one-day event for trash pick up from the shoreline – it also provides environmental education awareness. Eventually, that piece of paper, plastic, bottle or can could make its way to the lake or stream that is the source of the drinking water supplying area families and businesses.
Since 2020, this one day event has collected over 37 tons of trash and 98 tires from the lake. Its positive impact is acknowledged by the affected water authorities and marinas, as well as recreational lake users.
We are looking forward to the upcoming Clean Up, and are expecting a great turnout!
