The Great Lake Allatoona Cleanup "GLAC" and its partners will lead the Lake Allatoona community in environmental stewardship of the watershed through education, preservation, conservation, and volunteerism.

Great Lake Clean Up 2021

In 2021,  7.6 tons of trash and 15 tires were collected and removed from the Lake Allatoona shoreline; however, the lake was 3 feet lower than in 2020.  There were 2,036 registered volunteers this year which was almost 500 more registered volunteers than in 2020.  The GLAC is not just a one-day event to pick up trash from the shoreline, it also provides environmental educational awareness.  Eventually that piece of paper, bottle, can, etc. could make its way to the lake or stream that is ultimately a source of drinking water that supplies many families and businesses.
